Laz Alonso (Deception, Jumping the Broom) has been added to the cast of NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura. Based on a popular Spanish series, the hourlong project stars NBC alum Debra Messing as Laura, a homicide detective navigating life and love. Alonso co-stars as Billy, her partner in crime.

Samuel Anderson (The History Boys) joins Series 8 of Doctor Who, which introduces Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. Anderson has a recurring role as Danny Pink, a teacher at Coal Hill School where companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) also teaches. 

On joining the show Anderson said, “[Doctor Who] is a quintessential part of British culture and I can’t believe I’m part of it. It’s an honour to be able to work alongside Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman and I can’t wait to show people how my character becomes involved with such a fantastic duo!”

Cedric Yarbrough is set to co-star in Fox’s new half hour Dead Boss, an adaptation of the BBC3 series. 

The comedic mystery stars Jane Krakowski as Helen, a woman wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss and depending on her train wreck of a sister to prove her innocence. 

Yarbrough will play Helen’s schlumpy lawyer, Tony. 

Marvel has released a first look at B.J. Britt as Triplett in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is set to return to ABC Tuesday, March 4. Britt co-stars opposite Bill Paxton as Garrett, as his character joins the team on a special mission.
