The announcement of a new Kirk Franklin and Lil Baby song had the internet both confused and excited on Thursday.

Moviegoers of all ages are anticipating the upcoming release of Malcolm D. Lee’s Space Jam: A New Legacy. After NBA legend Michael Jordan helped make the original 1996 film into a cultural phenomenon, critics are skeptical that the modern remake will live up to the legacy of its precursor.

The full soundtrack for the movie, being released July 16, has yet to be revealed but early signs suggest that fans don't think it will disappoint.

On Thursday, gospel music star Kirk Franklin posted a snippet of the song "We Win," which he and Lil Baby made for the project. The song, produced by Just Blaze, was released at midnight on Friday.

Given Franklin and Lil Baby’s standings as the two of the biggest stars in their respective music genres, a number of supporters are expecting nothing short of Black excellence. Some fans are hailing the track as a potential award-winning music endeavor.

LeBron James, who will star in the film, posted a video of himself vibing out to the new song.

It may be difficult to supplant the 1996 film from the memories of a generation of Americans, but it appears that at least a portion of the music soundtrack will leave a lasting impression.

This time around, the animated featured tabs basketball icon James as the hero needed to save the planet. In working with James, Space Jam: A New Legacy's director said the 5-time NBA champion displayed the same leadership on set that he does on the court.

“He was always ready to be on set and he never really left set. He would stay there all day and be ready for us whenever we needed him. He was a great professional, not just on camera, because he loves to be directed and loves to perform but also to be a motivating force for our extras that were there. He’s just a good example of a leader,” Lee said, according to Comicbook.com.
