Over the weekend, rapper Cardi B deleted her Twitter and Instagram accounts after fans harassed her about not attending the Grammys.

According to E! News, Cardi’s fans took to Twitter to express their frustration over her absence from the 64th annual Grammy Awards despite being nominated for best rap performance for her track “Up.” Instead, baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar won the award for “Family Ties.”

Responding to angry fans who complained she wasn’t at Sunday’s Las Vegas concert, Cardi released an 8-minute video asking why she would attend the awards show with one nomination.

“Why would I go to the awards for?” Cardi B asked. “Do I have any new music? Why would I show up with one nomination?”

According to Cardi, she skipped the Grammys because she was working on new music and told her fans that she was completing her album.

“I gotta prep today, and I gotta prep tomorrow,” Cardi said. “So Tuesday, I’m going far away and f–king finish the motherf–king album.”

Cardi B shared that she hates when people call her lazy because she works so hard.

“One thing I hate is when people call me lazy,” Cardi said. “because I work so motherf–king much.”

Twitter users reacted to Cardi deleting her Twitter and Instagram accounts, with some folks taking Cardi’s side.

One user said they weren’t too big to respond to trolls, that if you come for them, they’ll come for you.

Another user commented on Cardi B defending her children, comparing her to American-Nigerian musician Davido.

Meanwhile, other Twitter users were not sad about the rapper being off social media.

We wish Cardi B a speedy return to Twitter and Instagram.
