Nickelodeon has renewed Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan for a fifth season. Variety reports that Perry’s Nickelodeon series has also commenced at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.

The 13-episode series will start its fifth season with a holiday episode later this year and continue to follow Dylan (Dylan Gilmer) and cousin Rebecca (Celina Smith) as they work more on their music careers.

According to Variety via Nickelodeon, the two will “try to expand their fledgling hip-hop record label, while the whole Wilson family tries to deal with Dylan’s mogul dreams.” The series also stars Carl Anthony Payne, Hero Hunter, Mieko Killman, Jet Miller and Aloma Lesley Wright.

Perry, who serves as executive producer, released a statement to Variety saying that the series has been a spot of joy in families’ lives.

“Young Dylan has been such a fun series for families to watch together, and we’re looking forward to continuing the story of the Wilsons and Dylan as he strives to reach his dreams,” Perry said.
