Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson was feeling anything but love on Valentine’s Day.

The singer has been going through a lot, including divorce, and now, he says he’s been released from his record label.

The Fast & Furious star claims Voltron Recordz dropped him on the first anniversary of his mother’s death.

Gibson’s mother, Priscilla Murray, died on Valentine’s Day 2022.

Her death resulted from health complications due to COVID-19 and pneumonia.

On the first anniversary, Gibson took to Instagram, writing in part: “I really thought I would be doing much better today all week I feel like I was preparing myself to mentally emotionally and psychologically get through this very tragic day for me and my family. Today my mother transitioned of all days on Valentine’s Day last year 2022.”

Feb. 14 is also the date he married his ex-wife, Samantha Gibson.

The couple split last year and have been in a contentious court battle over child support.

Gibson says he was dropped from his label on Tuesday, giving him three things to mourn on Feb. 14.

In the Instagram post, he wrote, “My label just dropped me on the same day my mother passed!”

He continued, “I’m all over the place, we’re supposed to take my daughter to school this morning I couldn’t even get out of bed.”

In the Instagram post, he also noted that despite this news, his new song “debuted on the charts top 20,” and per Craig Davis, “not only are urban AC stations playing the record, but gospel stations and pop stations are playing it as well because of the Leandria Johnson and Lenny Kravitz feature.”

The label hasn’t commented on Gibson’s release. It is unclear if this impacts the release of his upcoming album, which was also supposed to feature Brandy, Snoop Dogg, Chrisette Michele and Tank.
