Uber Driver Lamiyah Jabbar surprised a former rider with a few gifts after the passenger revealed she could not afford a gift for herself.

The Buffalo, New York, resident met Diane during a routine Uber ride. Diane, who works at a local fast-food restaurant, vented to Jabbar about her struggles affording slippers and a new dress. In a Facebook video, the positive Uber driver recorded Diane's reaction as she was handed a gift card and a new dress from Old Navy.

On the morning of August 3, the passenger went on to tell Jabbar about how hard it was to take care of her grandchildren. Diane planned to wait until Christmas to buy something for herself. After she arrived to work that morning, she did not know someone was looking out for her. To Diane's surprise, Jabbar took it upon herself to make it happen sooner.

"I have a lot of hard times myself but I’m blessed with amazing friends," Jabbar told Totally Buffalo. "I’m naturally a go-getter. So, I dig my way out of hard times or my friends help me. And not everyone has that same ambition or friends."

When Jabbar isn't driving people to their destinations, she gives positive advice on Facebook. There are numerous videos focusing on relationship advice to positive affirmations.

Since publishing the video of her act of kindness, nearly 46,000 people liked and 28,000 people shared the video.

Jabbar has had a history of giving back and helping others. While speaking to Totally Buffalo, the giving driver recalled a time when she drove past a woman who missed her bus.

“I was driving by and she looked really upset that the bus kept going. So, I asked her if she wanted a ride."

The woman who missed her bus was in dire need. She was apparently on the way to a court appointment regarding her children. If she had missed that crucial appointment, she would have been denied custody of her children.

The now-viral video has brought Jabbar's kindness into the national spotlight. However, she intends on not letting it get to her head. She plans on helping people just like before.

"I do things like this often but with all the negativity around I said people need to see more positivity."
