
University Of Maryland Honors Slain Bowie State Student With On-Campus Plaza
Five years after Lt. Richard Collins III was stabbed to death, the former HBCU student is being honored at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Lt. Richard Collins III — killed just days before graduating from Bowie State University — is being commemorated by the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD).
Mere feet away from where Collins passed away, a plaza has been erected to serve as a “permanent reminder” of the senseless violence that cost him his life.
Today is dedication of Lt. Richard Collins III Plaza, to honor his life, legacy. He was stabbed to death, after visiting a friend.
