Uno announced stacking cards wasn’t allowed during gameplay but many players refuse to accept it.
For the uninformed, stacking means placing down a draw card in response to another player’s draw card.
For instance, if someone puts a “draw four," you can throw down your own “draw four” card to avoid adding four cards to your deck. If your friend doesn’t have another draw card, they have to draw eight. If they have one, you have to keep throwing them down until someone runs out.
This move has resulted in several broken friendships and flipped card tables.
Uno must have been tired of the drama because they finally announced stacking was against the rules on Saturday.
If someone puts down a +4 card, you must draw 4 and your turn is skipped. You can’t put down a +2 to make the next person Draw 6. We know you’ve tried it. #UNO

“If someone puts down a +4 card, you must draw 4 and your turn is skipped,” they wrote. “You can’t put down a +2 to make the next person Draw 6. We know you’ve tried it.”
We have and we will not acknowledge this blasphemous tweet.
Twitter wouldn’t either. Several users told Uno they were wrong about the game they created.

UNO: As the official voice of the game we created: here is the actual rule.
Black Twitter: nah, fam, we gonna play like been playing. That’s for the cards tho.
UNO: but no, we’re saying that isn’t correct.
Black Twitter: We good.

This is a completely valid move and the only sure way to assert your dominance at the table.

To Uno’s credit, the game’s instructions clearly say the victim of a draw card must skip their turn. There’s actually a whole set of rules for the draw four card. Did you know you can only play the wild draw four card if the rest of your deck doesn’t match last card your opponent displayed?
The instructions say:
“This acts just like the wild card except that the next player also has to draw four cards as well as forfeit his/her turn. With this card, you must have no other alternative cards to play that matches the color of the card previously played. If you play this card illegally, you may be challenged by the other player to show your hand to him/her. If guilty, you need to draw 4 cards. If not, the challenger needs to draw 6 cards instead. If turned up at the beginning of play, return this card to the Draw pile, shuffle, and turn up a new one.”
This is too much.
Unless Uno is going to come to our house to pry the cards from our cold dead fingers, we’re going to keep stacking.
