Well, filming is currently well underway for Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained!
Besides casting notices, we haven't said much else regarding its production process. There's been a few on set pictures floating the web, but none which are particularly interesting.
Tarantino has been busy, shooting in Jackson Hole Wyoming and New Orleans, working with the cast (Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Don Johnson, Christoph Waltz, Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony LaPaglia) and crew.
Unchained, about a slave-turned-bounty hunter Django (Foxx) who sets out to rescue his wife Broomhilda (Washington) from an evil and brutal Mississippi plantation owner with the help of a mentor, is still gearing for a December 25th release date.
In an exclusive interview with SlashFilm, Django's executive producer Michael Shamberg said the following when he was asked about finally seeing some footage from the film:
I’ve seen some stuff and it’s amazing. We’re still shooting and my partner Stacey [Sher] is producing with Pilar Savone who worked for Quentin and Reggie Hudlin. I’m exec-producing and we’re like, maybe, half-way through. You have no idea. It’s the most amazing film cause, as you know, it’s a spaghetti western about slavery and Quentin’s vocabulary is such that it’s just pure entertainment, Leonardo’s the bad guy, it’s gonna be awesome.
There you have it folks! I'm sure this will be one the most, if not THE most, polarizing film this year AND next. Hopefully some footage will surface online soon.
