The USC Trojans are welcoming both Bronny James and DJ Rodman onto the team for their 2023 season. Both young players come from a direct line of superstar basketball legacy — Bronny is the eldest of NBA player LeBron James, and DJ is one of three from NBA player Dennis Rodman.

Bronny committed to USC as his college choice straight out of high school, but DJ decided to join the team after playing four years at Washington State. On May 8, DJ entered the NCAA portal and had an official visit with USC.
During his years at Washington State, DJ appeared in 111 games. His basketball career at WSU wasn’t linear, but his final season with them was his best to date. DJ averaged 6.1 points per game as a sophomore, then 4.2 points as a junior. His average points for his final year with WSU were 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, making this his best overall season. The 2023-24 season will be his final year of NCAA eligibility.

The Trojans are a prestigious basketball program but lost a few players to the portal. The team has qualified for the NCAA Tournament for three years but has lost in the first round in the past two years. They successfully reached the regional final during their 2020-21 season.
