Combining elements of Reggaeton and EDM, J Balvin cultivates an upbeat, fun-filled music video for his new song, “Dientes,” while paying tribute to Usher alongside DJ Khaled.
Usher’s 2004 Vibe magazine cover features heavily in the “Dientes” (Spanish for teeth) music video before the man himself comes to life right off the page and vibes out to the electrifying new track, the first for the “Prince of Reggaeton” since 2021.
In a recent Billboard interview, Balvin revealed working with Usher came about during Paris Fashion Week.
“When I saw him, I had that flashback to the songs that defined my childhood,” Balvin recalled. He asked if he could sample “Yeah!” per the outlet.
Balvin added, “He said of course, but then I thought, ‘It’d be great to actually do something with him.’ Recording the track and filming the video with someone so legendary fills me with nostalgia and gratitude. I think this song will have huge global impact.”
Following the release of his fifth album, 2021’s Jose, which reached No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums charts, Balvin enlisted a collective of major international producers like Mura Musa, Fred Ball, DJ Luian, Mambo Kingz, Tainy and Michael Brun to craft “Dientes.”
