Uzo Aduba is attached to co-star in Lakeshore Entertainment’s adaptation of "American Pastoral," the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Philip Roth, which follows Seymour “Swede” Levov, a legendary high school athlete, who grows up to marry a former beauty queen and inherits his father’s business. Swede’s seemingly perfect life shatters when his daughter rebels by becoming a revolutionary and committing a deadly act of political terrorism during the Vietnam War.

Aduba joins David Strathairn, Peter Riegert, Valorie Curry, Ewan McGregor, Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning, in a film that will be directed by McGregor, from a script penned by John Romano ("Lincoln Lawyer"), with filming scheduled for September 2015 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Aduba will play a character named Vicky. Unfortunately, it’s not a novel I’ve read, so I can’t offer any informed commentary on the character. But if you’ve read the novel, please chime in.

Aduba continues to line up projects away from the hit Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black," which earned her both Screen Actors Guild and Emmy awards, as well as a Golden Globe nomination. She will next be seen next in NBC’s "The Wiz Live!" in December. She’ll also co-star alongside Maggie Grace, in an indie feature film titled "Showing Roots," which centers on the seemingly intriguing tale of what happens to a racially segregated small Southern town in 1977, when the seminal slavery TV miniseries saga, "Roots," premiered.
