Verizon is sharing some disappointing news with its customers. According to The Street, Verizon announced that it will remove Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass subscriptions on the 5G Get More and 5G Play More plans.
Up until now, customers were able to get a large amount of games on their phone with Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass costing $6.99 and $4.99 a month, respectively. However, Verizon plans to remove the games by Sept. 25.
What happens to customers’ subscriptions after Verizon removes Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass?
Customers who have a six-month subscription of Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass must cancel by Sept. 25 to avoid being charged. Those who have subscriptions that end on or after Sept. 25 will lose their accounts, but they will not be charged.
Verizon also plans to increase prices and remove some loyalty discounts by Sept. 1
Still, Verizon is focused on improving customer experience. Verizon Chief Financial Officer Tony Skiadas spoke about the company’s goals during an earnings call in July.
“We have taken a series of actions to address our elevated churn,” Skiadas said, per The Street. “On June 24th, we launched initiatives designed to improve the customer experience, including leveraging AI for more personalized support. In addition, we continue to enhance our value proposition and build customer loyalty through the best value guarantee. We provide exclusive access to the best events and experiences, and our Refresh app helps customers maximize the value of their plans.”
As Tom’s Guide reported, Verizon wants customers to know that the it continues “to invest in offering the very best experience and most value for your money in the industry.”
