VH1 has announced several new shows coming to its programming lineup throughout the summer and fall, in the midst of a 33% boost in viewership of adults 18-49.
In the absence of Single Ladies, the network will have plenty of programming for urban audiences and women, as it adds new reality series including This Is HOT 97, which gives viewers a comedic look inside this iconic radio brand; White Girls Of Rap featuring female rappers striving for success, from Ryan Seacrest Productions; Swab Stories, chronicling how lost family members re-connect thanks to DNA testing; Walk Of Shame Shuttle, which follows a young entrepreneur’s service for college students who overindulged the previous night; and an untitled series following the singing career of Love and Hip Hop cast member K. Michelle.
The new series will join a slate that already includes scripted dance team drama Hit The Floor with Kimberly Elise, and Drumline movie sequel Drumline: A New Beat, produced by Nick Cannon with Fox Television Studios.
VH1 is currently the #1 network with women 18-49 and women 18-34 on Monday nights to date, while its Thursday night demo ratings are up more than 200%, which the network credits to reality series Couples Therapy and Mob Wives.
