Shooting has been done for the sci-fi/adventure project 1000 A.E., now just called After Earth, for about a month or so; father/son pairing Will Smith and Jaden Smith, star, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, in a film whose full synopsis reads:

In After Earth, one thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind's new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (played by Will Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (played by Jaden Smith). When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.

Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo co-star by the way, as sister/daughter and mother/wife respectively.

Both the sister and mother roles will likely be peripheral to the core story between father and son, in what will be more of a coming-of-age tale (or coming-into-his-own) tale with Jaden as the real star of the film.

Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) was brought on to polish up Shaymalan's script before shooting began (a very good idea IMHO), and Columbia Pictures is said to be planning a June 2013 release.

Well… it doesn't contain any footage of the father and son, but here's your "first look" at After Earth, from the film's official site, which gives us some backstory on the world that the film takes place in.
