A man who was fatally shot in the head over the weekend at a Waffle House in Gainesville, Florida, was reportedly paying for other patron's meals shortly before his death.
ABC News reports that Craig Brewer, 41, was killed at around 3 a.m. Sunday after he had been giving out $20 bills and picking up strangers' tabs at the Newberry Road Waffle House. Police believe a female customer became resentful she wasn't among the recipients of his generosity, the Gainesville Sun reports.
“The victim was engaging folks at the restaurant, and there was a disagreement with a female customer,” Lt. Brett Rhodenizer, from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, told The Gainesville Sun.

An argument began between Brewer and 25-year-old Ezekiel Hicks, an acquaintance of the woman. According to the Sheriff's Office, Hicks left the restaurant and returned with a handgun.
"Despite the efforts of at least one bystander, the suspect went back inside, approached the victim, and a physical fight started. As the fight continued, the suspect took the handgun from his pants and shot Brewer in the head. The entire incident was captured on surveillance video, now considered evidence in the murder case," the Sheriff's Office wrote on its Facebook page.
Police say Hicks was quickly located and arrested near the scene. ABC reports that he is being held without bail on charges of premeditated murder in the first degree and for carrying an unlicensed firearm.
