Wanda Sykes is still reeling from the effects of Will Smith‘s decision to slap Chris Rock at the Oscars.
According to People, Sykes talked about her feelings regarding the now-infamous incident at a recent event at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, FL. Sykes has currently been on a comedy tour.
Sykes said that she's still disturbed by what happened while she was co-hosting the Oscars, saying, "I'm still traumatized. I can't talk about it. I get emotional."
“I couldn’t believe he was still sitting there, like an assh—,” she said. “Shouldn’t you be sitting there with a lawyer or LAPD, motherf—–?”
Skyes ended her statement on the matter by hoping that Smith pulls himself together.
"I hope he gets his s--- together. Until then, f--- him," she said.
Sykes had gone on record earlier this year to talk about how she felt about the Oscars, saying it was “sickening” seeing Smith slap Rock to what were, at the time, no repercussions. Smith has since been slapped with a 10-year attendance ban.
"I felt so awful for my friend, Chris," she said while on The Ellen Degeneres Show. "It was sickening. I felt physically ill. I'm still a little traumatized by it."
Fellow Oscars co-host Amy Schumer also said the slap negatively impacted her, writing in a now-deleted Twitter post how she felt “triggered and traumatized.” After giving kudos to her “friend” Chris Rock for keeping his composure, she wrote, “the whole thing was so disturbing.”
Smith has been banned from Academy events for 10 years.
In April, the group said that in addition to accepting Smith’s resignation from the Academy, it was decided that the actor cannot attend Academy events or programs for a period of 10 years.
“I have directly responded to the Academy’s disciplinary hearing notice, and I will fully accept any and all consequences for my conduct,” said Smith’s apology when he resigned. “My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable. The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home.I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken. I want to put the focus back on those who deserve attention for their achievements and allow the Academy to get back to the incredible work it does to support creativity and artistry in film. So, I am resigning from membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and will accept any further consequences the Board deems appropriate. Change takes time and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to overtake reason.”
