Warner Bros. Television studio has announced the launch of a new Directors’ Workshop, which is designed to “provide up-and-coming directors with the opportunity to break into primetime television,” according to a news release.
Further, the program aims to “prepare elite helming talent for the transition to episodic TV.”
The directors’ workshop will feature “multiple components, all geared towards preparing directors for a successful career in television, with the backdrop of active television series sets as the learning environment, and top TV helmers, cinematographers and showrunners as instructors,” the news release states.
The 12-week master class will be taught by veteran director and author Bethany Rooney, who directed almost 200 episodes of prime-time network shows, including episodes of Arrow, Criminal Minds, Nashville, and more.
The 3-month session will run May 31 to Aug. 23, and will also include opportunities to participate in optional components,like cinematography workshops, acting classes and shadowing current directors on episodes of Warner Bros. shows
Applicants must submit their resume, a short composition and letters of recommendation for consideration. Applications and eligibility info can be found on its Directors’ Workshop website.
