2 brand spanking new clips from Pariah, Dee Rees' feature directorial debut, based on her award-winning short film of the same name, that centers on a Bronx teen forced to choose between losing her best friend or destroying her family, as she juggles conflicting identities, all in a desperate search for sexual expression.
The film stars Adepero Oduye, Pernell Walker, Kim Wayans in a rare dramatic role, Charles Parnell, and Aasha Davis.
Focus Features will initially open the film across select theaters in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, and then expand soon after throughout the winter.
Myself, Sergio and Wendy have all seen it, and gave it a consensus thumbs up – and that doesn't happen very often, so you know what that means. See it when it opens!
