I must have missed the announcement of Giancarlo Esposito’s casting in "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials," the sequel to Fox’s YA action franchise.
Directed by Wes Ball (who also directed the first film), Esposito plays a character named Jorge, who is the leader of a group of survivors known as the Cranks that encounter the group of teens led by returning star Dylan O’Brien. The "Jorge" character also appears in the third book of the "Maze Runner" trilogy, titled "The Death Cure," so there’s a good chance Esposito will return for that as well.
The first film in the franchise, released September 2014, "The Maze Runner" (which Aml Ameen had a part in) grossed just over $100 million at the box office, on a $34 million budget. "Scorch Trials" is set for a September 18, 2015 release.
