Airing tonight on Channel 4 in the UK, is Lennie James’ segment of the 4-part drama series titled Run, which tells the stories of struggle of four seemingly unconnected characters.
Richard is a recovering heroin addict who spends every day struggling to stay clean. Only one thing spurs him on; the possibility of re-establishing contact with his teenage daughter. Faced with the prospect of never seeing her again, Richard is torn between returning to the world of addiction or salvaging the only relationship that matters to him.
Lennie James may not be a household name (yet) here in the USA, but the man stays employed, both here in the USA, and in the UK.
His many acclaimed TV credits include Jericho, Lie To Me, The Walking Dead and several others.
He’s also an award-winning theatre veteran.
Talking about the character he plays in the Channel 4 series, run, Lennie James had this to say:
“Richard’s a man who’s having a bad day. Small incidents have huge ramifications on this man’s life over a short space of time, and that’s what I love about it. It’s an epic story told through small events. It’s lovely to play, and it’s the kind of thing I like to play because it’s a lot about what’s going on, on the inside.”
