nullHere's the 9-min short The Most Beautiful Girl In The World by Dana Verde, a Jamaican/Cuban filmmaker I've profiled in the past, and whom I wish would gain more exposure in the next months/years.

Verde attended the New York Film Academy and  the prestigious London Film School in the UK. She was also a finalist in 2003/2004 Sundance Screenwriters Lab competitions. She's done work in commercials and several shorts; Verde is working on a full feature film based on her last short, Lock and Key.

I interviewed Verde a few days ago and had a very enlightening and interesting coversation with her, which I will post in the next day or so; she's shopping a rom-com feature in LA, and she's currently in negotiations with a producer.

Her fantasy/comedy below follows an over-weight 12 year-old girl who makes a birthday wish to be "beautiful." It screened at the Urban Mac Film Festival, London, UK. 2008.
