Here's the very simple, but effective trailer for the short film, And I On The Opposite Shore, written, produced and directed by New York City-based filmmaker, Mozell Miley-Bailey, whose previous film, Paris Periherique, won the short film narrative award at the 2011 Harlem International Film Festival.

Her new film, which also recently won one of the Best Short Shorts awards at this year's Harlem Film Fest, was shot on location in Key Largo, Florida, and stars Haitian recording star and actor Mecca (AKA Grimo Marcelin) – who has appeared stateside in TV shows like The Glades and Burn Notice – as well as newcomer Madeystsha Lamarre. Both actors play dual roles in the film.

The filmmaker describes the film as a "mystery surrounding two Haitian couples—one adrift on a boat in the middle of the ocean while another is vacationing on a beach resort in Florida. The film brimming with atmospheric imagery unravels a meditative mystery as to whom these couples may be and whether they are possibly connected somehow."

Of even additonal interest, the music for the film was composed by Haitian afro jazz singer/musician Monvelyno Alexis. 

Readers in New York will have another chance to see And I On The Opposite Shore when it's screened at the Big Apple Film Festival, at Tribeca Cinema, Nov.15 6-7:30PM.
