Filmmaker Tamarat Makonnen's documentary In Search Of The Black Knight is familiar territory, but a necessary conversation nonetheless.

In Search Of The Black Knightis a documentary that takes a humorous look at the complexities of African-American romantic relationships. In particular, the film addresses the perceived shortage of eligible black men to women and the theories on why this problem exists.

Black Knight is completed, but does not yet have a scheduled date of release.  Makonnen told me that he's currently prepping to submit In Search Of The Black Knight for various film festivals throughout the country and abroad.  I look forward to getting a chance to see it when that happens.
