Written and directed by Maggie Peren, Color of the Ocean will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month. The film stars Alex Gonzalez, Houbert Kounde and Sabine Timoteo.
The synopsis of the film reads: “On a Gran Canarias’s beach, a German tourist witnesses the arrival of a precarious boat with African refugees on board. In order to help, she gives money to an African father and his son, both escaped from the reception centre. That decision will influence strongly their lives while the officer investigating the case will severely try to deport both Africans.”
Houbert Kounde plays Zola, the African father from Senegal. The trailer looks interesting. Watch below.
