The film, a teen comedy, is titled Beware The Gonzo, and is written and directed by Bryan Gobuloff (screenwriter for The Basketball Diaries).

It centers around Eddie “Gonzo” Gilman (Ezrah Miller) who starts an underground newspaper after being downsized from his post at his high school’s newspaper, when a more popular editor Gavin Riley (played by Jesse McCartney) gets the job. With help from a fearless “beautiful outsider” (played by Zoe Kravitz), the pair challenges Gavin and the rest of the so-called in-crowd.

Campbell Scott, Amy Sedaris, Juda Friedlander and Marc John Jefferies co-star.

The film was acquired by Tribeca Film Releasing earlier this year, and is now available, starting today August 25, on VOD via iTunes, Amazon.com, Vudu and Cable Movie-On-Demand channels.

This VOD release will be followed by a limited theatrical release beginning in NYC on September 9.

So, you can pay $5.99 to $6.99 to watch it right now in the comfort of your home; or pay the $12 to $13 to see it on the big screen in a couple of weeks.

And in anticipation of its VOD release today, a short new clip from the film, with Zoe Kravits, has been released, which I embedded below. And underneath that, is the trailer if you haven’t already seen it:
