Nobody made Kanye but himself who he is today. He was nobody to a producer-rapper-fashion designer-billionaire. If he didn’t believe in himself when everyone doubted him,he wouldn’t become Kanye today. It is heartbreaking that Donda is the only one who believed in him #JeenYuhs

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is facing criticism after sitting down with a group of artists to discuss drill music, a genre that has been condemned by critics for promoting violence. Speaking with reporters, Adams said the rappers arranged a meeting with him because they were concerned that he wanted to "ban" drill rap.
In his conversation with the group, which included Fivio Foreign and Maino, the mayor assured the artists that he doesn't want to ban the genre, ABC News reports.
The mayor said his concern specifically involves rap videos in which artists directly attack and threaten their rivals with violence.
"Violent people who are using drill rapping to post who they killed, and then antagonize the people who they are going to kill is what the problem is," Adams told reporters.
After seeing a clip of the mayor's meeting with the artists, people criticized Adams for spending too much time on an inconsequential matter.

LeBron James once again proved why he's one of the wisest celebrities on the planet. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar showed off his wit in a viral clip this week. While he was surrounded by a group of people who were talking about going to a strip club after a party, James avoided the encounter by running down an escalator heading in the opposite direction.

Snoop Dogg created some buzz after performing at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, but the news wasn't all about his music. Instead, people focused on a video that showed the rapper smoking before taking the stage for his performance.

People bashed the New York Post in particular for making news about the rapper's well-documented hobby.
And WHY is this even a story? 🧐

Snoop also received attention for the outfit he wore during the halftime show. Rumors circulating on social media suggested that the NFL had told the rapper not to bring a blue bandana, a known Crip gang signal. Still, the artist showed up in an all-blue wardrobe.
Digging more into this. The NFL apparently told Snoop Dogg he wasn’t allowed to have a blue bandana hanging out of his back pocket (a known Crip gang signal). So, our Uncle showed up in head-to-toe blue bandana print AND Crip Walked on stage. We are everything✨🖤🖤 pic.twitter.com/Zp786VaHeO

Eminem faced backlash for taking a knee during his performance at the Super Bowl halftime show. As Blavity previously reported, the gesture appeared to be a tribute to Colin Kaepernick, who was ostracized by the NFL after taking a knee during the national anthem in 2016 to protest police brutality.
While wrapping up his rendition of “Lose Yourself” on Sunday, Eminem took a knee and held his head in his hand. Some critics then bashed the artist for making a statement similar to Kaepernick.

Nick Cannon is back in the news after releasing a new song about his love for Mariah Carey. The artist shared his new single “Alone” on Valentine's Day, Complex reports.
“I say I’m cool when I know I miss it/I’d trade it all for the case/If I could have you back/If I could go back to where we started at,” Cannon sings on the track. “As much as I want you back/It’s probably better where you at.”
Social media, of course, had plenty to say about the new song, including some jabs.

Happy Valentine’s Day to my soulmate, my best friend, and my “partner in crime” 😉. Every day I’m in awe of her kindness and grace. She’s made me a better man. This is one of my favorite photos of her (and her coworker David) I found on her phone. I love you, Melissa. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/wDPglOx4g0

The much-anticipated Bel-Air show is finally out, and people are already in love with it.
Bel-Air: first up, this is not a wholesome family show. This is a for real drama about a West Philly kid facing real-life consequences. This is very well-written and shot. Peacock has a hit on their hands. pic.twitter.com/rWRDryXW70

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot features similar characters from the original show, but it's presented as more of a drama instead of comedy. The show is streaming on Peacock.
