This weekend's most impressive box office numbers came from Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol which opened in only just over 400 IMAX theaters this weekend to a very solid $13 million. The film opens in regular theaters nationwide on Weds Dec. 21 where its sure to give other films opening on that day, including David Fincher's (totally unecessary remake of) The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, a run for its money.
Martin Scorsese's Hugo looks like it's out of gas despite all the critical praise that it's gotten and will no way close even close to recouping (domestically) its reported $170 million production cost and Steve McQueen's Shame has now grossed $1,230,000 on only 51 screens to date.
