Everyone knows that animated films tend to do extremely well at the box office and that The Lorax would, not surprisingly, do very well this weekend.. But no one predicted the stunning results with the film raking in $70 million leaving everything else in the dust behind it.
Project X came in a distant 2nd while TP's Good Deeds dropped 55% from last week. Now he's had other films that have made as similar as big a drop in their second week, so this is not actually all that unusual for him. But that steep a drop indicates maybe some things; 1) that the word of mouth on Good Deeds isn't good , 2) that everyone who really wanted to see the film went on the first weekend, 3) that unless he's in drag people aren't that interested or 4) all of the above.
