Just shows you how much I know, which any regular reader of S & A can tell you isn't much. I figured that Men In Black III was going to underperform in its opening weekend release, because I didn't think there was any interest from anyone in a new MIB movie.

But MIB III did much better than I expected, through some are saying that the $70 million take the film will make by the end of the Memorial Day weekend, Monday night, can be considered a disappointment because it was expected to do $80 million or more. I thought the film would be extremely lucky if it made $50 million by the end of the holiday weekend.

However the film still has a long way to go considering its budget, which is rumored, because of costly delays due to script problems and production shutdowns, to be anywhere between $250-300 million. Though I have heard rumors that the budget was more in the $440 million range. And that's before marketing.
