The West Coast and hip-hop community are remembering the life of rapper Bad Azz, who passed away this week at the age of 43.

Fellow California lyricist Daz Dillinger shared the news on his Instagram page on Monday, writing “R I P TO THE HOMEY BAD AZZ @badazzlbc JAMAR STAMPS DPGC MEMBER ????????????????????????”

Complex reports that Jamarr Stamps died while in jail for a domestic violence charge. While his cause of death has not been reported, Riverside County Jail records show that he was arrested on Thursday.

Stamps was an extended member of Tha Dogg Pound affiliate group, Dogg Pound Gangsta Crips, alongside Dillinger, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Kurupt, Snoop Dogg and many other West Coast artists.

Snoop Dogg and others wrote tributes to their fallen friend on social media.
