Model, blogger and body positive activist Simone Mariposa didn't appreciate the criticism she and her sisters in size faced when they let their fashionable flags fly. In an effort to shut down body shamers and Internet trolls while simultaneously pushing the message of self-love and confidence to the forefront, Mariposa created the hashtag #WeWearWhatWeWant.

Since its launch last summer, the hashtag has received a lot of support from members of the plus-size and digital communities. Mariposa says her main goal is to promote a sense of non-conformist, unapologetic and self-assured existence. Visibility is the key, and it's clear with a campaign like this that we're on the path towards positive ideologies towards the plus population.
I mean, talk about a slay.
