With news that Universal Pictures is backing a sequel to The Best Man, with Malcolm D. Lee returning to write and direct this follow-up to his hit directorial debut, and your near-orgasmic reactions to the news (on this site, as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages), I thought I'd hand the mic over to those of you for whom the sequel is highly-anticipated, to share your thoughts on what you'd like to see happen (or not happen) in The Best Man 2.

It's been a long time since I last saw the first film, and, to be frank, while I do remember liking it, it didn't resonate with me as much as it apparently did with a lot of you more rabid fans of the film; but I plan to revisit it on this blog, some time before the sequel is released in November.

Until then, however, if you were lucky enough to get Malcolm D. Lee in a room for 5 minutes, and were asked for suggestions on plot or story (whether for individual characters, or the film as a whole) for the sequel, what would you say?

While there's still no word on what exactly the plot for this sequel will be, in the Universal press release, it's stated that the entire starring cast of the first film is returning for the sequel, and hints at what the story will be.

After nearly 15 years apart, Taye Diggs (television’s Private Practice), Nia Long (Big Momma’s House), Morris Chestnut (Kick-Ass 2), Harold Perrineau (Zero Dark Thirty), Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow), Sanaa Lathan (Contagion), Monica Calhoun (Love & Basketball), Melissa De Sousa (Miss Congeniality) and Regina Hall (Scary Movie franchise) reprise their career-launching roles in the next chapter to the film that ushered in a new era of comedy. When the college friends finally reunite over the Christmas holidays, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.

So, we at least know the film will take place over an X-mas holiday, and some history between the various characters will obviously be of influence on how the narrative progresses.

Harper, Robin, Lance, Jordan, Julian, Quentin, Shelby, Mia, Candy et al… what would you like to see happen with them (or to them) in The Best Man 2… if Malcolm D. Lee asked?

Will Lance have to kick Harper's behind again? Will there be a happy dance sequence at the end? Will Jordan get to tell Harper all over again about how her hormones are raging out of control, how horny she is, and how she doesn't want hear about "no goddamn peas"?
