CNN anchor Don Lemon wants to know why his network continues to allow presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway to speak on-air.

Lemon, the host of CNN Tonight, joined his colleague Chris Cuomo Thursday night for their usual round of quick-witted banter, but their chat quickly turned toward a more serious tone. According to HuffPost, Cuomo had just wrapped up yet another segment with Conway, and Lemon asked his fellow CNN journalist why he keeps interviewing the Trump administration official.

“She never answers a question. She berates you. She’s condescending,” Lemon said. "She uses our network to give her talking points. For me, it feels beneath the dignity of this network to have someone one who constantly lies and misconstrues things.”

Lemon added he views time on their network as a privilege and argued Conway had abused that privilege one time too many.

"I don't get anything out of it," Lemon said of Cuomo's Conway interviews. "It's just you two guys arguing back-and-forth, and I don't get the substance."

Cuomo didn't disagree, but he stood firm behind his reasons for continuing to invite Conway.

“I just believe that if this is the best the president has out there, I want people to see what he considers his best offense," Cuomo stated. "I want them to see what he thinks is appropriate for his main counselor to do on television.”

Cuomo said he sees value in calling out the White House's lies.

"The reason the American people within the Republican party have offered [Trump] the forgiveness they have is because they don’t expect better from anybody because so much lying happens in politics," Cuomo said.

Still, Cuomo says he's aware the debate about giving Conway airtime is a hot topic among journalists, telling his coworker, "You are not alone."

"I know," Lemon replied before the two respectfully ended the exchange.
