A video shared on TikTok has gained momentum after viewers were left shocked by what they had seen — a white HBCU professor was screaming in the face of one of his students in the middle of a lesson.
The video captioned “welcome to the HBCU experience,” was allegedly filmed at Tennessee State University and has many posing questions as to what could have made the professor so upset that he felt the need to yell into the student’s face. The teacher looks nearly red with his veins popping out while asking the student for his name.
In the video, the professor can be heard screaming, “I SAID WHAT IS YOUR NAME?!!”
The student in question is shown calmly leaning back away in his chair from the teacher being in his personal space.
“GET OUT!” the professor said with his finger pointing toward the door. “YOU HAVE FAILED THIS COURSE, WHATEVER YOU’RE NAME IS!! OUT!! OUT!! OUT!!!!!”
It was posted on Monday by TikTok user Mya @myathagangsta receiving more than 110,000 likes.
The video has also found its way to Twitter after @theylovekennedi said the professor in the video is known for that type of behavior in the classroom.
“This professor is at Tennessee State University and apparently talks to students like this all the time. Something needs to be done #Repost #tsu #racism #heneedstobefired,” the tweet reads.

A Twitter reply to the video shot down the claims of the professor being “racist” but agreed with everything else regarding the teacher’s disrespectful manners.
“He has a reputation among students for screaming and being verbally abusive so the school and faculty have to be well aware,” the replied tweet reads while sharing a link to professor Pickard’s page on the Rate My Professor website.
On Pickard’s Rate My Professor page he is deemed as unprofessional, angry, rude, and had a habit of yelling in students’ faces.
