The Karen who was recently seen on camera accusing a Black man of stealing a Citi Bike is now providing receipts to prove she paid for the rental bike they were arguing about. The white woman’s name is Sarah Jane Comrie, and her attorney, Justin Marino, presented the receipts on Thursday, the New York Post reported.

One of the two receipts her lawyer shared shows someone took out the bike, then re-locked it a minute later. Another receipt shows someone took a second bike from the same docking station a minute later. Marino said Comrie used this second bike to go home after she was “heckled and pressured to find a new bike.” Marino also said his client, an employee at Bellevue Hospital, is six months pregnant. According to him, Comrie paid for the bike using the Citi Bike app on her phone.

“One or more individuals in that group physically pushed her bike (with her on it) back into the docking station, causing it to re-lock,” Marino said in a written statement to the New York Post. “In blocking the QR code, this individual’s arm was touching my client’s pregnant stomach, a condition of which she had made them aware. Throughout this time and for the remainder of the video, roughly five individuals were telling her to get off the bike and heckling her.”

He added, “The fact anyone would treat another person like this is tragic, especially a visibly pregnant woman.”

Following the incident going viral across social media, Bellevue Hospital, where Comrie works, placed her on leave as the situation is investigated. At the time of the incident, civil rights attorney Ben Crump wrote in a since-deleted tweet: “This is unacceptable! A white woman was caught on camera attempting to STEAL a Citi Bike from a young Black man in NYC. She grossly tried to weaponize her tears to paint this man as a threat. This is EXACTLY the type of behavior that has endangered so many Black men in the past!” Watch the viral clip below:
