The minions mesmerized under the "Trump effect" strikes again.

Earlier this week, another racial situation sparked by Trump supporters went down this time at a high school basketball game in Missouri. The Warrensburg High School men's basketball team were ready to tip-off against visiting opponent, Center High School but as Center's starting roster was announced, Warrensburg students began turning their backs on the players. Magically, in the sea of students, a "TRUMP" campaign sign appeared.

A video of from the game quickly circulated on Facebook, upsetting students and faculty from both high schools.

Dr. Scott Patrick, Superintendent of Warrensburg R-VI School District, quickly issued an apology stating that the "student body acted inappropriately and were insensitive toward our opponents" and administrators will do everything in their power to "rectify this situation and keep events like this from happening in the future."

Dr. Patrick also spoke to the Kansas City Star, where he admitted that the students have a tradition of turning their backs on opponents, which he called "unsportsmanlike" but he too thought the displaying of the "TRUMP" sign took it "over the line."

“I was disturbed by the video. It was obviously inappropriate conduct on the behalf of a small number of our students. So that upset me. From the very beginning, we regretted that it happened and I apologize on behalf of our students and our school for the incident,” said Dr. Patrick.

Twenty-year-old Center High alum, Antonia Nunn, captured the video and posted it on her Facebook page. This, in turn, sparked a huge debate on whether the action was just inappropriate, like Dr. Patrick stated, or blatantly racist. Nunn believes the act was racially motivated being that it was a predominately all-white school faced with an all-black basketball team.

This is not the first time that a racially motivated action has gone down at a sporting event in conjunction with politics. Back in October, a similar situation happened at a University of Wisconsin vs. Nebraska football game, where a fan was seen wearing an Obama mask with a noose around its neck. The fan was asked to remove the mask, which he compiled, but was allowed to stay and watch the remainder of the game.

In both situations, the schools were quick to issue apologies but let's be honest, that's like slapping a band-aid over a crack in the wall. Students at a Texas high school have even reported racial discrimination from classmates since Trump won the election. When will real action be taken to stop racial acts like this from happening especially in schools and academic environments? And it's not just happening in educational settings. Hate crimes have been reported in several U.S. cities, dozens in New York, within the last month.

We're exactly 37 days away from Trump's presidency and it makes us wonder about the safety for not only our students but all of us in the now obvious, divided states of America.
