Can Will and Jada Pinkett Smith afford to add more to their never-ending plate? Yes, apparently. Will, a native of Philadelphia, and his wife just became minority shareholders in the NBA team the Philadelphia 76ers.
The duo joins an ownership group that includes a former NBA executive, leveraged buyout specialist Josh Harris and an Indonesian media magnate.
Forbes magazine values the team, which is 17th in the league, at $330 million this year. The Smith’s join the growing ranks – which already include Jay-Z, Nelly and Usher – of entertainers-turned-part NBA owners.
Just recently it was announced the couple, along with their business partner James Lassiter, sold an untitled comedy project to the ABC network starring Dominican lead singer Anthony “Romeo” Santos.
