Each time Black Thought raps nowadays, it seems like he’s just now hitting his prime. Last month, he spoke to the Harvard i-lab as part of its ‘Other Side’ Speaker series. His talk touched on the charity and business ventures he does outside of music, but he still took a moment to show fans why he’s revered as an MC. He opens the verse saying, “We living in some times that’s the craziest/they say these legislators are the laziest/Dedicated religious figures have gone atheist/Each and everything must change, there’s no escaping this.”

Thought goes on to say, “Half-dozen in one hand, six in the other/Yo, this is more than a sun tan – it’s living color/black as oblivion, black as obsidian/black as the sky at midnight out to Meridian/I am black as a portrait with Diddy, 2Pac, and Biggie in/black as the influence on the culture we living in.” To hear the rest, watch the video above and look out for more work from the Philly MC. From his feature on Royce Da 5’9’s new mixtape to his collaboration with 9th Wonder and Styles P, he seems to have more in store for fans.
