Whenever Regina Hall graces the big screen, her beauty, wit and talent are undeniable — as such, her feature in People for The Beautiful Issue is appropriate.
However, Hall said she believes the idea of beauty is only skin-deep and that she finds beauty in a person’s soul more than their outward appearance, according to People.
“My mom used to always say, ‘You’re only as pretty as you act,'” the Nine Perfect Strangers actor said. “A beautiful world comes from a beautiful heart; that’s probably the best way to be beautiful. I’ve dated some men that haven’t all been traditionally handsome, but then you fall in love and you’re like, ‘They’re such a good human being.’ They actually get more beautiful.”

Hall said being in love makes her feel the most beautiful and wants her next relationship to happen organically rather than rely on dating apps.
“I think it just comes together. I don’t know that it’s something you seek. When I’ve been in relationships, I feel like I’ve met a guy out or maybe through a friend. I’ve never used technology, but I think it’s so individual,” she said.
Hall added that she utilizes her faith to guide her in choosing her relationships and all areas of her life.
“It makes me feel like there’s a smarter guidance,” she said. “Even if things feel incredibly uncomfortable, that life is where it is, and maybe now I can’t see it, but maybe in time, I’ll be like, ‘Ah, I get it.’ I know that because I have many ex-boyfriends. If I had my wishes, I’d be six divorces later.”
But like most public figures, Hall tends to keep her relationships out of the public eye.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 2015, Hall revealed that she contemplated becoming a nun while reflecting on her life.
“I thought, ‘I have missed it all. I have been all wrong. I am suppose to be a nun,'” she said to the outlet.
However, she joked that it was too late given her age and past lovers.
