Last night, I was on Soundcloud, per my usual, and I happened across Johnny Rain’s new EP. Why no one told me he had an new EP out is beyond me, but what is clear is that this guy has created his lane following the release of his debut album titled 11. Featuring such standout cuts as Harveston Lake, New Religion/Dimelo and Oakland Ting/808 and Patron, it positioned Mr. Rain as someone to watch.

This EP’s strong production, stronger songwriting, and the versatility to switch between rapping and singing with fluidity makes me question anyone who is still waiting on Frank Ocean when you can be blessed with such auditory brilliance from Johnny Rain and the OD Republic collective. But don’t just take my word for it. Listen to the buttery smooth EP on Soundcloud.
