Screenwriter, producer and actress Issa Rae appears to be engaged, and although she hasn't spoken on the development herself, her Insecure co-workers seemed to have mistakenly shared the joyful news.

Rae appeared on the cover of Essence magazine’s beauty issue and turned heads for more than her aesthetic. 

Besides looking absolutely gorgeous, Complex reports many fans noted Rae sported one particular accessory in each of her photos: a huge diamond on her ring finger. Rumors began to swirl the Insecure actress is engaged to Louis Diame.


Who is this Diame, you ask? 

Not much is known about Rae's bae except that they've been together for some time. 

Although Rae has yet to confirm the news herself, Insecure co-stars and friends Yvonne Orji and Jay Ellis apparently have.

Entertainment Tonight reports the pair gushed over the details on the red carpet of the 50th annual NAACP Image Awards, unaware that Rae hadn't yet spilled the news herself.

"We're very excited for her," Orji told reporters.

Ellis, standing nearby, added, "We all found out in different ways because we're all on different text chains. We talk at different times, so we all found out at different times in different ways."

It’s unclear if Orji or Ellis received some heat from Rae, who was also in attendance at the ceremony, after the reveal, but either way congratulations are in order!
