Zendaya has nabbed another big gig for her sprawling, upcoming film slate.

Luca Guadagnino has set his next film, Challengers, and has tapped the Euphoria Emmy winner along with The Crown’s Josh O’Connor and West Side Story‘s Mike Faist to helm.

The description, per Deadline:

The story follows Tashi, a tennis player turned coach, has taken her husband, Art, and transformed him from a mediocre player into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a “Challenger” event — close to the lowest level of tournament on the pro tour — where he finds himself standing across the net from the once-promising, now burnt-out Patrick: his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend.

Zendaya will play Tashi, Faist is Art and O'Connor is Tashi's former boyfriend.

Deadline reports the project is expected to begin production in March, and the process came together last year when he met with Zendaya. She was “instantly intrigued and soon attached herself to the package that began making the rounds to various studios who loved the combo of the two.” MGM then landed the film and O’Connor and Faist then joined the talks. Guadagnino has wrapped his next film, Bones and All, starring Timothee Chalamet and Taylor Russell.

With Euphoria and two big blockbusters under her belt in Spider Man: No Way Home and Dune, Zendaya is also set for a Ronnie Spector A24 biopic among her other film projects.
