The fifth Avatar movie from filmmaker James Cameron won’t hit theaters until 2031 and Zoe Saldaña can’t believe how old she’ll be when that time comes.

After Disney announced the film’s delay on June 13, Saldaña reacted to the news on her Instagram Story. “Great! I’m gonna be 53 when the last Avatar comes out,” the actress jokingly shared in a now-expired post. “I was 27 when I shot the very first Avatar.

The second 'Avatar' film debuted in theaters last December.

Avatar: The Way of Water opened in theaters 13 years after the original box office hit, which became the highest-grossing movie of all time.

Though the first film brought in a whopping $2.9 billion, the sequel wasn’t far behind as it generated $2.3 billion worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing film in movie history.

Though 'Avatar 3' was originally slated to be released in 2024, it will not hit theaters until 2025.

The new release date for the film is now December 19, 2025. Cameron has even scheduled release dates for Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 which, according to Variety, will be Dec. 21, 2029, and Dec. 19, 2031, respectively.

Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water are currently available to stream on Disney+.
