When considering the history of R&B music, one cannot pass over the legacy of the late Aaliyah Dana Haughton. She consistently came through with music that topped the charts and expressed her beautiful and gentle vocal range. Unfortunately, Aaliyah was taken away from this planet on August 25, 2001 in a plane crash in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas. To be quite honest, I’m convinced that if Aaliyah was with us today, she would be ruling the R&B scene. To honor the legacy of the late Aaliyah, below you will find a list of some of my personal favorite songs by the iconic singer/actress/dancer/model.
