What do we know about the children of Deion Sanders?

Former NFL athlete Deion Sanders played in the NFL for 14 years. The “Prime Time” athlete earned a number of titles and awards for his time playing. And in 2011, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Many fans recognize him for his football career, but Sanders also played professional baseball for nine years. He signed with the New York Yankees as part of the 1988 MLB draft. And the following year, he would go on to make history as the first and only person to hit a professional home run and score an NFL touchdown in the same week.

Even though Sanders has since retired, his love of football still lives on. Today, he acts as the head football coach of the Jackson State Tigers in Mississippi.

But even having a Hall of Fame title under his belt, Sanders would argue that his greatest accomplishment is his children. He has five children: two with his ex-wife Carolyn Chambers and three with his second ex-wife Pilar Biggers-Sanders.

Deion Sanders is the man, the myth and the legend. But to his five children, he’s just dad. To learn more about his mini-mes, here are five things to know about Deion Sanders’ children.

In 1992, Sanders and his former wife Carolyn Chambers welcomed their first daughter Deiondra into the world. Fans may recognize her from their family show Deion’s Family Playbook. And later, she appeared in Deion & Pilar Sanders: Prime Time Love.

But even though they made nice on the show, her relationship with her stepmom has had its share of challenges. In a series of epic Twitter posts, Deiondra accused Pilar of having ulterior motives, calling her a “gold digging h*e.”

As a legendary NFL athlete, Deion Sanders is an epic role model for his children. So much so, that his three sons Deion Jr., Shilo and Shedeur are already making a name for themselves in the football world.

His eldest son, Deion Jr., played football in college where he set records with 203 kick runs in a single game.

Sanders also coaches two of his sons, Shilo and Shedeur as the head football coach of Jackson State. And in 2021, his youngest son Shedeur helped lead the team to an 11-1 season finish — a turnaround from its previous lackluster record. As a result, he was named the top freshman in FCS football.

They're creating their own lanes

Sanders is a rich and famous athlete who could buy his family the world. But instead, his children are focused on creating their own legacies.

His oldest son, Deion Jr., is the founder and CEO of the apparel company Well Off Forever. In 2015, his oldest daughter, Deiondra started Love Me Extensions, a hair extensions line created to “help other people feel beautiful.”

Shelomi Sanders is the youngest daughter of the Sanders clan. And at just 18 years old, she already has a promising basketball career ahead of her.

She attended Rockwall-Heath High School where she played as the shooting guard for the school’s basketball team. And later, she made waves after posting a viral TikTok video that showed off her basketball skills.

Earlier in 2022, she announced that she would attend Jackson State in an Instagram post captioned “COMMITTED 🤍💙.”

Shelomi will join her two brothers who also attend and play for the HBCU, and her proud father, who coaches there.

They're musically gifted

The Sanders siblings are a tight-knit family of athletes, but many of them share a love for music, as well.

Both Deion Jr. and Shilo are musical artists with an incredible knack for rapping. The pair posts music videos and behind-the-scenes clips from their personal and professional lives on their YouTube channels. But that’s not all fans get to see.

In an Instagram Live, fans watched as Deion went toe-to-toe in a rap battle against his son Shedeur. And even though it was all in good fun, it’s easy to see where the boys got their lyrical talent.
