Exactly 1 month ago, we reported the news that TNT had ordered a season of a new series titled The Hero, that will be hosted and executive produced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, along with his producing partner, Dany Garcia.

Recapping… The Hero will bring 10 ordinary people together in a house and then assign them various missions that will test their brains, their brawn and even their morality. The show will challenge the competitors to prove they've got what it takes to be heroes, pushing them to the limits to see what they are willing (and able) to overcome, undergo or sacrifice for the sake of their fellow contestants. In the end, one player will be annointed a true hero.

In a unique twist on the reality-competition format, The Hero will incorporate social media into every facet of the show, from pre-production and casting to on-location shooting and live broadcasts. 

The series is set to premiere on TNT in summer 2013.

Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, New York City, Nashville and Minneapolis To Host the Contestant Search for the Ultimate Hero, Beginning Oct. 13

Electus and 5×5 Media are embarking on a seven-city U.S. casting call for TNT's upcoming competition series The Hero, which will be headlined and executive-produced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The producers of The Hero are looking for competitors who display the physical, mental and emotional strength to participate in a battle of brains, brawn and morality, resulting in one winner being named the ultimate hero.
