The 9-1-1 universe is expanding. The ABC procedural drama is welcoming its second spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville, on Thursday.

The new show, which stars Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, follows firefighters, paramedics and police officers in the Tennessee capital as they navigate life-threatening situations and the chaos of their everyday lives.

“The first three or four episodes are going to be big, like super big, and lots of big storms coming in — both figuratively for the characters but also literal,” 9-1-1: Nashville showrunner Rashad Raisani told The Wrap in September. “We’re going to do what Nashville is known for, among many things, country music and honky-tonks and tornadoes. We’ll probably have all three in our first few episodes.”

Ahead of its premiere, here’s everything you need to know about the show’s emergency responders.

Captain Don Hart

9-1-1: Nashville is led by Captain Don Hart (O’Donnell), who runs the show’s team of emergency responders. According to Collider, Hart married into a wealthy family, which he has a complicated relationship with. Things are further complicated when Don learns he has another child, Blue (Hunter McVey). It’s a revelation that throws his personal life and professional life into turmoil.

Dixie Bennings

Dixie Bennings (Rimes) is a former background singer and single mother who becomes embroiled with the Hart family by way of her son, Blue. Bennings convinces Blue to connect with the Hart family because of her own ulterior motives, but Hart’s wife Blythe Hart (Capshaw) is on to her.

“It will get heated; there’s definitely drama between them,” Rimes told USA Today. “Especially when I was younger, I’ve had to hold up to this (wholesome) image. It’s so nice and healing to dig into this other side. “

Rimes added later that viewers will get to see “Dixie struggling around music.”

“But she’s not all country music,” she added. “Dixie is similar to me in that she can sing it all.”

Blue Bennings

Blue Bennings (McVey) is a Nashville firefighter and Don’s secret son, and he is described as a “haunted bad-boy” type, Screen Rant reported. Raisani said that Blue is “actually a stripper by trade,” makes quite the entrance into the firehouse and “upends everything,” according to TV Insider.

Blythe Hart

Blythe Hart (Capshaw) is Don’s wife and Ryan’s mother, and she is a force to be reckoned with. She goes toe-to-toe with Rimes’ Dixie throughout the season.

Ryan Hart

Ryan Hart (Michael Provost) is Don and Blythe’s son. He followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a firefighter and runs the firehouse with Don. He’s also a modern-day cowboy.

Cammie Raleigh

Cammie Raleigh is a 911 dispatcher played by Williams-Paisley, who starred in Father of the Bride.

Taylor Thompson

Taylor Thompson (Hailey Kilgore) is a Nashville firefighter and aspiring singer, Collider reported.

“Of course, since we’re in Nashville, we need a character who can sing and play guitar,” Raisani said. “So [Thompson is] an aspiring musician with incredible talent who will work musically into some of our episodes and give us that part of the show.”

Roxie Alba

Roxie Alba (Juani Feliz) is the paramedic captain, a former trauma surgeon and an adrenaline junkie.

9-1-1: Nashville premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
