"I've always dreamed of playing college football. As I grew up I realized that everything isn't given it has to be earned. Firstly, I would like to thank the man above, my mom, dad, brothers and coaches for preparing me to be successful," Crawford wrote on Twitter.

"I would also like to thank everyone for believing in me and pushing me to be a better man. with that being said, I am finally announcing that I will be 1000% committed to Louisiana State University. #GoTigers," he added.

The internet had a good time heralding Crawford for his unique name after an interview clip appeared online.

jokes aside, if someone names you “decoldest,” you’ve got a lot to live up to. being a d1 recruit is a good start. that young man is carrying that burden nicely.

Decoldest’s middle name is apparently Juan, which is actually just as good as ToEvaDoIt

Because who’s colder than DeColdest? No Juan

Many were left impressed by a nickname some thought was his actual middle name.

ToEvaDoIt is not actually Decoldest Crawford's middle name. I just spoke to him, he clarified it's Decoldest Jaun Crawford, for the record.

According to The Advocate, Crawford is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound sophomore at Green Oaks High in Louisiana. He's from Shreveport and had offers from Southern Mississippi, Southern University and Washington State University.

Original (September 3, 2019): There's power in names. A rising high school football star in Shreveport, Louisiana, may have the coldest name in the history of the sport — and he has the talent to back it up, too.

Green Oaks High School sophomore De'Coldest ToEvaDoIt Crawford has gone viral for having the dopest name in the game of football. The talented young wide receiver became a household name after a clip from a local news source appeared online.

De'Coldest's instant internet fame came during a preview of his team's upcoming season. The Giants football team are on the hunt for a district 1-3A championship in 2019. After missing the playoffs two years in a row before 2018, Crawford and QB Keith “Boom” Baker want to lead the team back to its former glory. Last year, Crawford caught 18 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns.

“I expect it to be challenging because everything isn’t supposed to come easy," De'Coldest told KTAL. "So we have to work to win it, but I have faith in us to win a district championship.”

When his unique named flashed across the clip, De'Coldest became a legend. Twitter users were eager to learn more about the student-athlete's background. Within a week's time, nearly everyone knew the wide receiver's story.

247 Sports learned that the Shreveport resident was destined for greatness at the very beginning. The wideout listed at 6'1 has offers from Southern University and Southern Miss already. Following his recent bout of fame, the offers are sure to increase.

"My mom came up with my name. She named me this because she knew I would be the best athlete out of everyone in the family," Crawford told 247Sports before addressing all the attention he's been receiving. "I love the fame everyone’s giving me on social media…keep it going."

But if this ain't the year of the names, we don't know what is.

In June, Blavity reported on a woman named Marijuana Pepsi who refused to change her name, despite obvious childhood taunting, and who is now a doctor.
