British Nigerian actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has certainly been a busy bee; he's one of those actors who just keeps working, even if the roles he gets often aren't lead/starring.

He already is set to star opposite Sylvester Stallone in Walter Hill's upcoming adaptation of a graphic novel titled Bullet to the Head, in what may be his most significant role to date, as the film's main villain, described as "a powerful attorney who's trying to cover up his scam to exploit poor neighborhoods that have been ravaged by Hurricane Katrina."

And we've told you about his planned directorial debut, the autobiographical Farming, which was developed at the Sundance Institute Directors and Screenwriters Labs, with a reading of the script at Sundance London last month, which was accompanied by some buzz, given the controversial subject matter (in short, young black kid joins skinheads; but much more on that in a later post).

Up next for Adewale is a a role as an American spy in the forthcoming HBO-BBC series collaboration titled Hunted.

In short, the upcoming series (described as a "smart, complex and contemporary spy series") centers on a spy named Sam (played by Melissa George) who is beeing hunted by a ruthless and determined enemy, as she returns to Byzantium, the organisation that employs her, and begins to pursue her pursuer.

Adewale is listed as one of the show's leads, but it's not known exactly what his relationship is with the other starring characters. 

Hunted, which began shooting in March, is scheduled to debut in the fall on both BBC (in the UK) and Cinemax (in the US).

I sense a Bourne-like narrative here. I'll also guess that Adewale is likely one the side of the hunters.

According to series writer Frank Spotnitz (who also penned scripts for The X-Files), the new show "has a budget competitive with US network shows and one very generous for the UK."

Shooting was on location in London, Wales, Scotland and Morocco.
